To Infinity And Beyond ...

We are huge Buzz Lightyear fans in our house and just look what I got to play with during the week!!! A new digital kit from NitWit Collections called Spaced Out and I loved it!! These are the cards that I made, you can see why I've fallen in love with it. The colours and elements are perfect for boy cards and I can see that I will be using it over and over again!

On Friday and again on Saturday at 11pm UK time and 5pm across in America
I am hosting 2 challenges over at Prima Hybrid as part of the InterNational Scrapbook Day celebrations. There will be challenges and games all weekend as well as prizes (both digital and traditional) and the PrimaHybrid Flowergirls are holding another blog party where you will be able to collect free templates (if you don't do digital you can save the templates and use them as sketches) as you hop from blog to blog. It's going to be lots of fun so come along and join in.

Happy news ...

Some news that made me really happy - I got invited to be on The Digi Chick site CT to create hybrid projects for them. This card and tag were my first projects for them, don't you just love this paper?

Cards ...

This weeks Daring Cardmakers challenge was to make a card that had been distressed in some way. This was right up my street because I'm really into torn, curled and inked edges at the moment.

The first card uses my new kit that I bought from The Shabby Princess, I just love that spotted paper so much!

Then I made another one, this time using a digital kit from CatScrap and all sorts of bits and bobs.

News... and a few challenges... and some enabling..

This might be long!

First off my crafty news - I've been invited to be part of FunkyPlayground's site CT. Wow! I'm so very happy and the invitation came right out of the blue. These are some of the projects I've been working on this last week using the new collaboration kit at Funky Playground - Funtastic.

The dare for this week over at Daring CardMakers is the theme of 'hot and spicy'. I set myself my own little challenge to use orange products to represent the hot and spicy theme. I'm not a big fan of the colour orange so I was surprised to see how many orange coloured products I have in my store

(Digital papers bt Gina Miller, Dani Mogstad and Kim Christenson, WHSmith luggage tag, MM clip, Basic Grey button and brad, American Crafts ribbon, Prima flowers, Fancy Pants word art)

The challenge on the LilyPad blog yesterday was to combine two templates to make one project. I took inspiration from Amy Martins Love of Space 3 templates to create my card - I seem to be loving the whole torn edge, vintage lace style at the moment.

Do you fancy some enabling? Mary Fran over at NitWit Collections has created a fabulous space themed kit - it's absolutely gorgeous and perfect for anything boy related - layouts, cards, invitations etc. I've already got stuff printed out all ready for a few cards in the morning. Want a peep?

I've got more crafty news but I'll save that for another day - I'm off to bed now. Night Night xx

I got tagged...

By Heather:
1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play yourself? And why?
I think Meg Ryan or Minnie Driver
2. You are spending a whole month on a desert island for charity and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with & your least favourite celebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be & why?
I'm not really a celebrity follower but someone like Ty Pennington from Extreme Makeover would be nice, I wouldn't like to spend time stuck on a desert island with a blonde bimbo type person.
3. What are your three favourite crafting products?
Well wouldn't you know - printer, scissors, gluestick!

4. If you could invent something to do anything what do you think it would be?
I would invent Cadburys chocolate that had no fat or calories in it, so I could eat it everyday

5. What are the last three books that you read?
Digital Artist Magazine
Card Trends
Coming Home, Rosamunde Pilcher

6. Qvc or create & Craft?
Err - neither!!

7. Docrafts or Dovecraft or DCWV?
Hmmm - I like DCWV cardstock as it has a white core so it's fab for sanding and distressing and I've bought several packs of dovecraft brads. Wouldn't go near DoCrafts with a barge pole
8. What is your claim to fame?
I was the first baby girl to be born in the North East after the sex discrimination laws were passed in 1975 - me and my mam were in the local paper. Huh - not much of a claim to fame really xx
I'm tagging Jenni, Annette and Maria

It's my brothers birthday today so we have feasted on pizza and chocolate cake, not so good for my diet but it tasted yummy. My diet is going okay (apart from the pizza!) and I've lost half a stone so I am happy. I bought some new pyjamas to celebrate - don't you just love having a pyjama day and I'm planning on having one tomorrow :)

This week ...

This week has just flown by, it's Thursday already and I want to know what happened to Monday and Tuesday!!

Last week I was so happy for my card to recognised over at CPS, this week I got invited to join two new Creative Teams, I was selected as Artist of the week over at My Scrapbook Art and Papercrafts sent me an email requesting a card to be published in their Card Creations 6 magazine. I am so happy and thankful for all the love being shared in this crafting world.

I'm still waiting for an appointment to the hospital and whilst I've been waiting I've filled in my time with crafty stuff. A few things that I can't share just yet but these were some of the cards I made for The LilyPad designers at the weekend, I realised tonight that I hadn't shared them. Before that though I just wanted to say the colours aren't too good in the photographs because it was really late when I managed to take the photographs - but - I'm waiting for a mini photographic studio to be delivered so hopefully I can just put my cards in that, turn on the little lights and I'll get brilliant lighting for my creations at any time of day or night. Hmmm, we'll wait and see on that one I think.

Wow!!

Wow!! was all I could say when I saw this post over at CPS. Kandis chose my card for the Reader Spotlight pick of the week. I am very happy!! This is my contribution for this weeks CPS sketch, I used the Goin' Bananas digital kit at NitWit Collection and some scalloped circles that my friend Dawn kindly cut for me with her nestabilities dies.

Then, whilst I was in a challenge/dare kind of mood I took a waltz over to Beates blog and joined in with her sketch challenge ...

... and then peeped in on Melissa and joined in with her challenge too (use red, green, cream and black, trim/braid and make your own flower, any occasion but Christmas) - the crystal swirl is actually red but it doesn't show up too well on my photograph.

This afternoon I was rather bored with life lying on the floor so I visited The LilyPad store and took a lucky dip in the elements section - closed my eyes, whizzed my mouse around the screen and clicked!! I stopped on Amy Martin's funky painted flowers and made this groovy flap card, I also had another go at Charlotte's handwritten journalling tips over at IACW.

An attempt to catch up with blogging...

We seem to be having a very busy week in our household this week - not going places type of busy just normal family stuff that has filled up our days. I had a letter from the hospital with the results of my MRI scan on my back. I definitely have a slipped disc and have been referred to another hospital which is the neurosurgery specialist place for our region. So now I am waiting for a different hospital to write with an appointment. Although I've obviously got a major problem (it is major to me as I can't do my job, sit down for very long or walk very far which means I can't get on with my normal day to day life) I was very relieved that it was 'just' a slipped disc which can be fixed with hopefully an operation and not a growth or tumour which I was worried about.
Anyway, I got an enourmous box from Prima delivered on Tuesday filled with gorgeous scrumptious Creative Team stash goodies - I'm not kidding when I say the contents covered the whole of the kitchen work bench!! I am very lucky ducky :)

I also had a parcel from Emma's Paperie. If you haven't shopped there then I can highly recommend it and just look how it all arrives - the sweeties were delicious xx

Yesterday I had some cards featured on the It's A Creative World blog which made me very happy as I haven't had time to join in with the blog for a couple of months.

And of course I have been making cards - when I eventually do go back to work I'll be lucky if I get 2 cards made in a week so I am making hay whilst the sun shines so to speak and filling up the hours in my day when I am lying on the floor with cardmaking. I may as well make the most of it

One of the cards I made this week is for the Caardvarks challenge - Flight of Fancy

This last card is my contribution to the CPS sketch challenge. I've had this Miss Shabby Jenn digital kit since last week and hadn't gotten a chance to use it, it seemed perfect for this challenge and it co-ordinated so well with those little embroidered flowers that I bought at a craft fair and then never found anything to use them on.

As I am attempting to catch up these are some of my cards that have been posted in my galleries around digi-land but hadn't actually made it onto my blog :)
